Kettle Valley Neighbourhood Association (KVNA) - Volunteer President Position Vacancy
Position Title: President
Organization: Kettle Valley Neighbourhood Association (KVNA). An informal, non-registered neighbourhood group.
Location: Kettle Valley, including Ironhorse, Stellar, and surrounding areas
Status: Volunteer Position (Estimated Start Date: 2026)
About the KVNA
Nestled in the heart of southwestern Kelowna, the Kettle Valley Neighbourhood Association (KVNA) is an organization dedicated to enriching the lives of our residents and their families through various community events, charitable activities, and fun gatherings.
Our mission is to build a close-knit community that supports one another and contributes positively to our neighbourhood and city. Founded over 25 years ago by a group of residents and business leaders, the KVNA has become the lifeblood of our community, fostering connections and enhancing the vibrant spirit of Kettle Valley.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as our next President. This volunteer role is ideal for someone who values community involvement, has strong leadership skills and wants to make a positive impact in Kettle Valley. The role does not report to a formal board or governance, so it would ideally suit someone with time, passion, and organizational and leadership skills who can motivate and gather neighbourhood volunteers for community events and communication.
Why Get Involved?
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to promote their business, expand their local network and make a meaningful impact. By stepping into this role, you’ll play a vital part in keeping our 25-year-old association active and thriving.
Key Responsibilities
Serving as the primary liaison between the KVNA, the RCMP, and the City of Kelowna.
Leading and supporting the planning and execution of community events.
Kicking off and coordinating meetings for 3 to 4 annual events and exploring new event ideas that can add value to the community.
Developing partnerships and securing reliable sponsors to ensure funding for these events.
Manage/oversee the KVNA’s social media presence to keep residents informed and engaged.
Acting as the point of contact for resident inquiries.
Oversee general administrative duties and ensure communication within the association is organized and effective.
Occasionally handling media requests.
Building and strengthening partnerships with local organizations such as Chute Lake Elementary School, its leadership, and PAC.
Leading efforts to continue to develop the appropriate administrative framework to ensure the association operates in a legally compliant and organized manner.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Possess a marketing mindset with a strong administrative habit base to maintain engagement and structure.
Have a background as a local business owner or someone interested in promoting businesses within the area.
Be a friendly, approachable individual who understands and values volunteerism.
Be able to provide a clean criminal record check as part of the selection process.
You can reside in the Kettle Valley area, including Ironhorse, the homes on the hill towards John’s Family Park, or the Stellar area. However, what matters most is a genuine passion for our community.
Stay informed about municipal news and politics to help represent our neighbourhood’s interests.
Our Team
The KVNA is supported by a dedicated team of five volunteer individuals:
Our Treasurer manages our finances.
A marketing person will manage the website and assist with design.
Four other residents sit on an informal committee that shares a commitment to volunteering and building a strong community for residents and families alike.
Support and Transition
The incoming President will receive full onboarding support and guidance from the outgoing President, who has led the KVNA for the past five years. This transition period ensures the new President feels confident, informed, and fully prepared to take the role.
Application Process
Interested candidates will be invited to informal interviews with selected KVNA board members. Our informal board is looking for someone passionate, approachable, and eager to contribute to our neighbourhood’s success.
Thank you for your interest in helping us build a stronger, more connected Kettle Valley!
